art on paper

the new issue is out...

art for artist not afraid of getting outside their comfort zone and for those already dwelling there.

ART ON PAPER is an international magazine that presents award-winning coverage of artists working in a range of paper-based media, including limited-edition prints, drawings, photographs, books, and ephemera. Published bi-monthly (6 times per year), artonpaper is available via subscriptions worldwide or at bookstores throughout North America and Western Europe.

BRIEF HISTORY
artonpaper was founded in the late 1960s as The Print Collectors Newsletter. Published for more than twenty-five years, it provided the burgeoning limited edition print world with a highly respected resource. In the mid-1990s, the newsletter became artonpaper magazine and its editorial coverage was expanded to include photographs and drawings. Since then, the magazine has maintained its commitment to works on paper in all media—an important and growing niche in the art world.

art on paper has become my favorite notebook for notes, shorts, ideas.

i received a call yesterday from an editor at South West Art magazine.

she said:

"we'd like to include your work in a portfolio of figurative artists we're doing in our january 2010 issue."

i am extremely fortunate and honored...

thank you courtney.

btw - my friend jennifer mcchristian has an article about her art in the current issue.

soup of the day.

finished painting for today.

it's funny, sometimes i prefer the way my palette looks when compared to what i'm actually painting.

and that's just fine.

so it goes...

pizza is good for you...

if all else fails i might open up a pizza joint...

last night's homemade pie. stands up to the kids taste test.

bon-appetite...

the thing about color

color + wheel = science

color + imagination = creation

color + science + creation = everything

q & a

note to self translation...

q:
what can you do when you become tired of yourself ?

a:
harness the team.
hold onto the handles,
the splintered,
wooden,
smooth handles.

hang on firmly
as the team
begins
to pull you.

through the field.

when you become ready,
start to push
the team forward.

as they too,
will soon
become
tired of themselves...
